Academic Professional Track Positions in Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution
The Department of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution, College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for part-time or full-time Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure) positions at the assistant lecturer, lecturer, senior lecturer, instructional assistant professor, instructional associate professor, instructional professor, visiting associate professor of practice, visiting professor of practice, associate professor of practice, professor of practice, visiting assistant professor, visiting associate professor, and visiting professor levels with a 4.5-month or 9 month academic appointment, and the possibility of an additional summer appointment contingent upon need and availability of funds, beginning in spring, summer, or fall 2022.
The successful applicants may teach at both the undergraduate and/or graduate levels in support of the development of the educational programs; advise and mentor students; participate in all aspects of the department's activities; and serve the profession. Instructional track professors may also teach regular graduate courses and special topic seminars, as well as supervise graduates in professional practicum experiences.
Applicants should have teaching expertise related to engineering technology and be capable of teaching courses in one or more of the following areas: Electronics, Embedded systems, Internet of Things (IOT), Communications, Mechatronics, Robotics, Control. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also required. Applicants should consult the department's website to review our academic and research programs (engineering.tamu.edu/etid). All position openings are subject to budgetary availability, student enrollment needs, programmatic needs and turnover rates.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have undergraduate and graduate degrees in engineering, engineering technology or a closely related field. Applicants with master's degree with significant teaching and/or industrial experience will also be considered for these positions.
For appointments at Visiting Associate Professor of the Practice, Visiting Professor of the Practice, Associate Professor of the Practice or Professor of the Practice level, applicants must have, at the minimum, an earned master's level degree or at least 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline for professor of practice level titles. We will also consider applicants with a bachelor's degree and significant professional experience.
For appointments at Assistant Lecturer, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Instructional Assistant Professor, Instructional Associate Professor, or Instructional Professor level, applicants must have a masters or doctoral degree in a closely related engineering or science discipline.
For appointments at the Visiting Assistant Professor, Visiting Associate Professor, and Visiting Professor level, applicants must have a doctoral degree in a closely related engineering or science discipline.
