The IFAC Industry Committee is happy to announce the second IFAC INDUSTRY CONNECT event. This is a 60-minute virtual panel discussion event held live using the standard Zoom webinar platform on Oct 25, 2021 at 14:00 UTC (16:00 CEST, 10:00 EDT) and recorded on IFAC’s YouTube channel. Panelists will discuss topics with industrial significance. The second event “Machine Learning and Control” will discuss the use of novel machine learning approaches to solve control-related challenges in various industry sectors. The panel will reflect on (1) to what extent is machine learning used in industry; (2) what are the gaps between machine-learning-based and classical approaches to control solutions for industry implementation; (3) what types of challenges are more suitable for machine-learning-based solutions; and (4) what does it take to move a prototypic ML solution to production? The panelists are renowned experts in process industries, aerospace, automotive, robotics, and other industry sectors.
