The Fraunhofer Research Institution for Energy Infrastructures and Geothermal Energy (IEG) in Cottbus, Germany, is looking for creative minds with a start-up mentality who want to get involved in setting up the institution and take advantage of creative opportunities.
In the next phase of the energy transition, sector coupling between the electricity, heat and gas sectors will play an essential role. By working on practical and forward-looking research projects, you will actively contribute to the application and further development of these technologies for use in companies, industrial parks and municipalities. The focus of your work will be in the field of energy management as well as in the control and automation of sector-coupled energy plants and grids. Perspectively, you will contribute to build up and successfully lead an interdisciplinary working group in this research area.
The Fraunhofer Society is the largest organization for application-oriented research in Europe. Our research fields are geared to people's needs: Health, Safety, Communication, Mobility, Energy and Environment. By founding Fraunhofer IEG, the Fraunhofer Society is making a significant contribution to exploiting the markets in a more targeted way for the use of geothermal energy systems, energy storage and technologies to couple the energy sectors of heat, electricity and transport.
Employment, remuneration and social benefits are based on the collective agreement for the public service (TVöD). The position is initially limited to 3 years. An extension is intended to enable you to develop an attractive career at Fraunhofer IEG. Proficiency in German is required.
