Requirements:
• Education:
o Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Machine Learning Expertise:
o Deep experience in developing and optimizing machine learning models
o Proficiency in frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX.
• Programming Proficiency:
o Advanced coding skills in Python - Experience with R, C#, and/or Javascript is a plus.
o Expertise in data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn)
o Familiarity with model deployment workflows (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Soft Skills:
o Strong interpersonal skills to work with engineers, domain experts, and stakeholders, with the ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, impactful recommendations.
o Self-motivated and creative, with a passion for tackling complex, real-world problems in industrial automation using state-of-the-art AI solutions.
• Expertise in one or more of the following domains:
o Modern deep learning:
Proficiency in designing and optimizing deep learning models, including convolutional neural networks (CNNs), recurrent neural networks (RNNs)
Demonstrated knowledge of transformer architectures, including their application in natural language processing, computer vision (e.g., Vision Transformers), or sequence modeling
Hands-on experience in implementing or fine-tuning transformer-based models.
o LLM Interpretability:
Strong skills in analyzing and interpreting large language models. Proficiency in interpretability methods such as attention visualization or integrated gradients to explain LLM predictions and behaviors in industrial contexts is needed.
Skills in adapting LLM interpretability techniques to industrial data (e.g., sensor logs, technical reports), ensuring explanations are relevant to applications like predictive maintenance or process optimization
o Reinforcement learning:
Deep knowledge of RL theory and algorithms.
Proficiency in combining RL with deep learning, including familiarity with deep neural networks and transformer-based architectures for modeling sequential decision-making in high-dimensional state spaces.
Expertise in creating or leveraging simulation environments (e.g., OpenAI Gym, MuJoCo, etc.) to train and evaluate RL agents, ensuring safe and efficient exploration before real-world deployment
Experience with real-world RL deployments is a plus.
o Data-Driven control & optimization:
Strong background in control and optimization theory and practice
Strong background in modeling complex systems utilizing physics-based and data-driven modeling techniques
Experience with optimization software packages (e.g. GAMS, Pyomo, JuMP) and solvers (e.g. Ipopt, SCIP).
Experience with real-world industrial applications is a plus.
o Computer Vision:
Deep knowledge of computer vision techniques, including image classification, object detection, segmentation, and pose estimation.
Experience with vision-specific architectures (e.g., CNNs, Vision Transformers) and tools like OpenCV, YOLO, or Detectron2.
Ability to analyze multimodal data (e.g., images, video, sensor data) for industrial use cases like quality control or anomaly detection.
o Predictive Maintenance:
Expertise in time-series analysis, forecasting, and anomaly detection for equipment health monitoring and failure prediction.
Experience developing predictive models using techniques like LSTM, GRU, or transformer-based approaches for maintenance optimization.
Familiarity with industrial IoT data, sensor fusion, and reliability engineering principles.
