I am seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work on Scientific Machine Learning for Real-Time Decision Making.
Was your PhD research focused on learning to optimize, decision-focused learning, or learning-based control? Then, you are the person for the job!
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a postdoctoral researcher at the Johns Hopkins Department of Civil and Systems Engineering and the Ralph O'Connor Sustainable Energy Institute (ROSEI). The role is focused on research in cutting-edge Scientific Machine Learning (SciML) for constrained optimization and optimal control with applications in large-scale energy systems.
Qualifications
- PhD degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Control and Systems, Computer Science, Applied Math, or a related field
- Strong machine learning, constrained optimization, control theory, and applied math fundamentals
- Prior research experience in learning to optimize (L2O), decision-focused learning, and learning-based control
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Julia)
- Experience with deep learning libraries (PyTorch, Tensor Flow, Jax)
- Demonstrated software development skills via open-source contributions
If you're passionate about advancing research in scientific machine learning for decision-making with a real-world impact, I invite you to apply.
