We are looking for a passionate doctoral student or postdoc to join the research group on autonomous systems with focus on “intelligent planing and control” for autonomous robots (vehicles, drones). Your responsibilities will be to work on a funded research project, to support teaching, and to supervise students. Of particular interest are the following areas of specialization:
• Embedded optimization / Model Predictive Control
• Motion planning and trajectory tracking
• Data-based control and system identification
• Machine learning and artificial intelligence
• Reliability of safety-critical systems
The main prerequisite is a good Masters degree in any technical discipline, such as computer science, engineering, or mathematics. What's most important is a strong motivation for doing technical research. You should have prior experience in programming (e.g., Python, Matlab, C++) and scientific writing. Moreover, you should be able to communicate fluently in English. Prior experience in the field of robotics (e.g., ROS) or artificial intelligence (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow,) would be a plus, but not a strict requirement.
