The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering, Statistics, or Applied Mathematics and an interest in applying modelling and estimation techniques for the benefit of patients. A very good undergraduate degree is essential - at least a UK 2.1 honours degree, or its international equivalent.
A case for internal funding will be put forward once a suitable candidate is found. Funding will be awarded on a rolling basis, so early application will have the best opportunity to be considered.
Funding: Tuition fees at UK level and a stipend starting at £19,237 p.a, for up to 3.5 years.
EU fee waiver: a fee waiver - equivalent to the difference between overseas and UK fees – will be applied to students resident in Horizon EU countries starting their doctoral studies in 2024-25.
International students can apply but their application would benefit from an external source of funding to match fees at the international level.
