NeurIPS 2021 Competition: Learning by Doing

The "Learning by Doing" competition at Advances in Neural Information Processing Systems (NeurIPS) 2021 aims at bringing together researchers from the control, reinforcement learning, and causality communities. In the competition, participants are asked to control a system with unknown dynamics (a chemical plant in Track 1 and a robotic system in Track 2). By targeting researchers from different communities, we hope to foster cross-disciplinary discussions. There will also be prizes for each track: $3000, $2000, and $1000 for the first, second, and third place. The 2nd track ROBO (‘closed-loop’) of the Learning By Doing NeurIPS competition has just started. The 1st track CHEM (‘open-loop’) is still open for you to join.
Both tracks target researchers with a background in RL, causality, or control – let’s bridge the gap between these fields!

Prizes (each track): $3000, $2000, $1000.
