Full Time Fixed Term for 24 months
Closing Date: Thursday 15 October 2024
A cross-disciplinary team of researchers from the Universities of York, Cardiff, Manchester, Stirling, and Southampton are working together on an exciting EPSRC-funded project, Edgy Organism, to develop a novel end-to-end neuromorphic design approach based on spiking neural networks (SNNs). In this role you will design and test detection and estimation algorithms utilising artificial spiking neural networks, and targeted at efficient hardware implementation with novel neuromorphic computing architectures.
The successful applicant should have (or shortly be obtaining) a PhD in electrical engineering or a closely related field. It is vital you have experience in estimation and control, machine learning, mathematical optimization. A background in deep learning would be advantageous.
You will be required to undergo security checks, to be carried out by the National Security Technology Innovation Exchange (NSTIx) before beginning in this role.
