Research Student Positions in Control at Northeastern University, China

Northeastern University, China, is offering research student positions (at both the master's and PhD levels), available to international students. Successful candidates are expected to work with Professor Tengfei Liu at the State Key Laboratory of Synthetical Automation for Process Industries, and conduct high-quality research in the control and optimization of nonlinear systems and related topics. Northeastern University is recognized as one of the top universities in systems and control in China. Students of the state key laboratory are encouraged to publish in prestigious journals such as IEEE TAC and Automatica.

Eligibility
 Master's Positions: Open to students with bachelor's degrees.
 PhD Positions: Open to students with master's degrees.
 Comprehensive Master’s-PhD Program: Open to outstanding students with bachelor's degrees.

Financial Support
The financial support typically covers tuition fees and living expenses. Students are encouraged and strongly recommended to apply for government-funded scholarships as well.

Requirements
 Educational Background: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a closely related field such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or mathematics by the date of admission.

Biography of Prof. Tengfei Liu
Tengfei Liu is a full professor at Northeastern University, China. He received his Ph.D. in engineering from the Australian National University, in 2011. From 2011 to 2013, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow with a faculty fellowship at Polytechnic Institute of New York University. Since 2014, he has been associated with Northeastern University, China. His research interests include the control and optimization of nonlinear systems and applications. He has served as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, Systems and Control Letters, and Science China: Information Sciences. Dr. Liu is a senior member of IEEE.
