The Smart Energy and Innovation Research Laboratory LIREI, UQTR, in collaboration with the Hydrogen Research Institute IRH, UQTR, is seeking students to pursue Ph.D. with knowledge in the field of smart power and energy systems.
Required qualifications:
The candidate must have completed or be organized to complete their graduate training before the beginning of the position. The candidate must hold a Master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering or a related field, and their expertise and research interests should span the following areas:
- Smart grid technologies
- Distributed energy resources modelling and integration
- Transactive energy networks
- Home energy management systems
- Energy storage systems and applications
- Greenhouse modelling and energy management
In addition, the candidate should be familiar with the applications of mathematical methods such as Control & Optimization and machine learning algorithms to power systems. They should be skilful at programming (Python, MATLAB, etc.) and capable of conducting both theoretical and experimental studies. Sufficient English (or French) speaking and writing knowledge is also required.
Stipend: 27000 (CAD) $/year (including University Support)
Start: September 2024/January 2025
