I am currently looking for a Postdoc researcher in distributed (federated) machine learning for a joint project with Scaleout Systems AB, funded by Vinnova, the Swedish Agency for Innovation.
The postdoc will be placed at the Secure Learning and Control Lab at Uppsala University under my supervision and will be jointly supervised by Salman Toor (CTO Scaleout), joining a strong research and innovation team from Scaleout led by the project coordinator Andreas Hellander (CEO Scaleout).
The focus of this postdoc position will be on security and privacy-enhancing techniques for federated machine learning. The approach is centered around developing new theories and methodologies to achieve secure aggregation of federated machine learning models. One of the main goals here is to better understand how to algorithmically handle late and sampling-based model updates in practice in a way that allows for scalability yet introduces minimal model bias and ensures resilience against poisoning attacks.
