The European Patent Office (EPO) is looking for patent examiners in a number of technical fields. In particular, one of the positions open is in the field of automatic control and robot control (e.g. control of articulated arms). The position is based in The Hague, Netherlands with the possibility of teleworking (see links below for details).
The minimum requirements for applying are:
- Citizenship of one of the member states of the European Patent Organisation
- Master's degree or equivalent in the field of automatic control, possibly with a focus on robot control. A PhD degree is strongly preferred.
- Excellent knowledge (at least C1) of one official language (English, French or German) and the ability to understand the other two; alternatively, excellent knowledge (at least C1) of English (in such cases, the willingness to learn the missing languages and to reach level B2 within a set time frame would be required)
- Relevant work experience in industry would be an advantage.
The position offered is based on a 5-year contract, with possibility of extension, and a net monthly basic salary ranging between EUR 6450 to 9360 (after deduction of EPO-internal tax and before deduction of staff contributions to the social security and pension schemes; EPO salaries are not subject to national taxation).
