The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta invites applications for a postdoctoral position focused on studying distributed estimation and fault detection with application to computer networks. Key Responsibilities:
Lead and contribute to research initiatives in distributed estimation and fault detection methodologies for computer networks.
Collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary team to integrate the developed algorithms into real-world computer networks, especially in data-center contexts.
Disseminate research findings through publications in top-tier journals and conferences.
Assist in mentoring graduate students and engage in collaborative discussions within the department.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related disciplines.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in computer networks, with a strong preference for candidates having expertise in data-center networks.
Strong foundation in network algorithms, fault detection techniques, and system diagnostics.
Proficient in network simulation tools and hands-on experience in network testbeds.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Compensation:
Salary Range: CAD 45,000 – CAD 55,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
