The Department of Aerospace Engineering (AE) at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology invites applications for multiple tenured or tenure-track faculty positions at all ranks (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor)
Technion is Israel’s primary technological university. Its faculty members include three Nobel Laureates, and it is the major factor behind the growth of Israel’s high-tech industry.
Enrolling around 400 undergraduate and 150 graduate students, the AE Department is a world-class academic hub for aeronautics and astronautics, dedicated to the creation, expansion and dissemination of ideas and knowledge in aerospace sciences and engineering. The AE Department is globally recognized (16th in the world according to the 2021 Shanghai Ranking) and is committed to fostering interdisciplinary research that can address major societal challenges.
We are looking to expand research programs with applications related to autonomous aviation, air traffic management, future aircraft design, high-efficiency energy systems in propulsion, hypersonic and high-speed air vehicles, underwater vehicles and platforms, and microsatellites and nanosatellites, among others. Based on our developmental vision, we are seeking to hire several faculty members with a strong commitment to excellence and potential for or a record of sustained scientific accomplishments in the disciplinary areas of structural dynamics, diagnostics, fluid mechanics and aerodynamics, manufacturing technologies, multi-disciplinary design, computational fluid dynamics, astrodynamics, navigation, and control. Exceptional candidates in other areas will also be considered.
Successful candidates will receive a competitive start-up budget, recurring allowances (including an annual budget for research salaries and consumables), and state-of-the-art departmental facilities will be made available. We offer a highly vibrant and international research environment. Salaries are internationally competitive.
A review of applications will be ongoing. Interested candidates should submit: (1) a cover letter briefly summarizing their scientific background, strengths, and plans, (2) a curriculum vitae including a list of publications, (3) a research statement, (4) a brief teaching statement, and (5) contact details of at least three references.
Applications should be submitted to:
