IFAC TC AWARD ON ADAPTIVE AND LEARNING SYSTEMS
2023 CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
Objective
The Adaptive and Learning Systems Award recognizes individuals who made outstanding contribution in the field of Adaptive Control Systems and/or Learning Control Systems. The contributions may include theoretical concepts and/or technological products and/or control engineering realizations, and/or actions promoting the field in academic and industrial contexts. The Award is granted once in a career with no age consideration.
The winner will be provided with a certificate at a special ceremony to be held at the 2023 IFAC WC in Yokohama Japan.
Nomination procedure
The Adaptive and Learning Systems Award Selection Committee of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) requests nominations for this Award.
Each nomination has to be made by a nominator responsible for the complete nomination package. Self-nominations not are allowed.
The nomination package should include a CV, three reference letters, and one-page nomination letter.
The nomination should cover only contributions to adaptive and learning systems, with demonstrations of their impact. Nominations which review all contributions, including those outside the scope of adaptive and learning systems, may not be considered.
Eligibility
The current TC1.2 Chair, TC1.2 Vice Chairs, and the members of the TC Adaptive and Learning Systems Award Selection Committee are not eligible.
Selection criteria
The award is given in the field of Adaptive Control Systems and Learning Control Systems. Furthermore, the nominee should have served in some capacity IFAC, formally or informally. The selection is based on:
• Quality and impact of publications.
• Engineering and industrial leadership.
• Service to IFAC and international recognition.
Selection procedure
After careful evaluation of candidates and dialogue among the committee members, a recommended winner is selected and forwarded to TC1.2 Chair. The 2023 Award Selection Committee is composed of Jay A Farrell (Committee Chair), Mouhacine Benosman, Lei Guo, Marios Polycarpou, Draguna Vrabie, and Jing Zhou.
