A PhD and a postdoc positions are available at Tallinn University of Technology. The aim of the PhD/postdoc project(s) is to study possibilities to estimate disturbances affecting the dynamics of nonlinear control systems. There are two directions to follow. First, one can design novel ways to estimate disturbances or second, one can improve some known methods. For the latter the goal is to transform the dynamics of a nonlinear control system to special forms for which the disturbance estimation problem becomes easier to solve using some known results. There are different theoretical and practical aspects that the PhD candidate can study within the project.
A successful candidate is familiar with the basic definitions and concepts used in nonlinear control theory; has a master/PhD degree in mathematical control theory, systems and control, applied mathematics or related fields; has strong background in nonlinear control theory or mathematics; has excellent communication skills in oral and written English and has previous research experience.
The PhD position is for 4 years and fully paid. If you are interested, contact Arvo Kaldmäe (arvo@ioc.ee).
