Location: Systems Control Group, ECE Department, University of Toronto, Canada
Description: A PhD position is available broadly targeting the areas of data-driven, nonlinear, decentralized, and optimization-based control. The primary intended areas of application will be to sustainability problems in the energy sector, including transmission, distribution, and microgrid control problems, and smart building automation systems. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated independent learner, with exceptional mathematical and analytical skills, who wishes to conduct research at the leading edge of control theory and applications.
Qualifications: Successful candidates will
• hold a masters degree or equivalent in systems and control theory, applied math, optimization, physics, or a closely related field.
• have exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• have an initial track-record of academic publication in high-quality venues
