The Utah Smart Energy Laboratory (U-Smart) at the University of Utah has an immediate opening for two Ph.D. Students in cyber-physical power Systems Security and education to work on the development of novel strategies to increase the resilience and security of critical infrastructures such as the power grid. The project also includes supporting the development of education modules and a novel hardware-in-the-loop platform for teaching and training in power systems cyber-security and control.
The ideal candidates would have expertise in one or more of the following: hardware-in-the-loop simulation, cybersecurity, power systems operations, communication networks, and control theory.
The successful applicants will receive Research Assistant positions with a competitive stipend, along with tuition waiver and medical benefits, to earn their Ph.D. degree at the ECE Department at the University of Utah.
