One RTDA Researcher Position (https://www.polimi.it/personale-docente/lavorare-al-politecnico/bandi-e-concorsi-per-ricercatori/concorsi-a-tempo-determinato-pnrr-missione-4-componente-2-dalla-ricerca-allimpresa/r-pnrr-15944) is available at the Politecnico di Milano in the robotics group, funded by the Centro Nazionale per le Tecnologie dell'Agricoltura (AgriTech).
The winner will have the opportunity to work in the new laboratory ROSETEA, RObotic SEnsors Technologies for Environment and Agriculture (https://www.polo-cremona.polimi.it/en/scientific-research/research-laboratories/robotic-sensors-technologies-for-environment-and-agriculture-rosetea-laboratory). The research will focus on developing perception, planning, control, and coordination strategies to support a robust and reliable navigation of autonomous robots for farming tasks, considering different soils and environmental conditions.
Applicants with experience in autonomous robots (aerial and terrestrial) are encouraged to apply.
RTDA positions in Italy are regular jobs with social benefits.
You will access excellent research facilities in a newly created lab, with a motion capture system and various offroad mobile robots, with strong relations with the most important companies working in the field of farming 4.0 and smart farming, and strong relations with farmers.
In addition to a passion for robotics, programming, and abstract thinking, you should meet the following requirements:
- Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, or closely related fields
- Excellent academic track record
- Excellent English skills, written and spoken
- Strong programming skills
- Ability to lead a team and work independently
The Call for the RTDA position opened on February 24th, and the deadline for applying is March 16.
The evaluation of the candidates starts after the deadline.
