Rank: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Full Professor of Mechanical Engineering
The School of Mechanical Engineering (https://me.gist.ac.kr/meeng/index.do) invites applicants for a tenure-track and tenured faculty position starting in Fall 2021 at the rank of Assistant, Associate, and Full Professors. Areas of teaching interest are i) control systems, ii) mobile and autonomous robots, iii) system engineering for mobility (e.g., electric vehicle, clean energy vehicle, aero/space systems), and iv) all areas related to mechanical engineering. The selected candidate should be committed to excellence in undergraduate education, an active research program, and service to the University. Duties include teaching undergraduate courses, guiding senior thesis, and mentoring graduate students. The selected candidate must be able to work in a collaborative environment and establish a research program that integrates undergraduate student experiences. A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field, is required by appointment start date. Candidates with a recognized research record, supported by considerable journal publications, teaching experience, and services, may be considered for a higher rank.

The successful candidate will develop an internationally recognized and externally funded research program, will have demonstrated outstanding scholarly contributions in research as well as a passion for engineering education, and will be expected to develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas listed above. Furthermore, successful candidates will also be expected to demonstrate inclusion of diversity in their research, teaching, and/or public engagement; integrate multicultural experiences into instructional methods and research tools; and provide leadership in developing pedagogical techniques to meet the needs of diverse learning styles and intellectual interests.
