The UTS Robotics Institute is recruiting for up to two Postdoctoral Research Associates or Postdoctoral Research Fellows to conduct research on human-robot collaboration/interaction, socio-technical systems and human-robot teaming. The position will be based at the centrally located UTS Campus in Ultimo and will report directly to Distinguished Professor Dikai Liu
The UTS Robotics Institute (UTS:RI) is an internationally acclaimed robotics research group. Its vision is to be an internationally recognised leader, at a scale and quality to be globally significant, for robotics research, development and application of autonomous robotics. Since its establishment in 2003, UTS:RI has demonstrated international leadership in driving research advancements in robotics and in delivering real-world solutions to key challenges facing government, industry and the wider community. Examples include autonomous grit-blasting robots for steel bridge maintenance; multi-robot systems for automated container handling; bio-inspired climbing robots for confined space inspection; Robotic co-workers for human strength augmentation in manufacturing; and autonomous robots for underground pipe inspection and condition assessment.
About the role
The role requires expertise in human-robot collaboration/interaction, socio-technical systems and human-robot teaming, to join a team of researchers at the Robotics Institute.
About you
• PhD (or near completion) in robotics, or related disciplines
• Demonstrated high quality research
• Expertise or knowledge in human-robot collaboration/interaction, socio-technical systems and/or human-robot teaming.
• Demonstrated skills in experimental verification of research outcomes in robotic system.
• Experience in using robotics related libraries such as ROS, PCL, OpenCV.
Base Salary Range: $95,799 to $132,925 pa (Level A.Step3 - Level B)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
