The Utah Smart Energy Laboratory (U-Smart) at the University of Utah has Postdoc positions to work on the development of novel strategies to increase the resilience of critical infrastructures such as the power grid or water distribution systems against cyber attacks. The project also aims to develop models and simulation tools that could help teach fundamental principles of CPS security and control.
The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience and background in control systems, optimization, machine learning, and hardware-in-the-loop simulation setups, as well as a prior background in power distribution system analysis with distributed energy resources. A Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering is preferred but applicants with M.Sc. degrees and at least 3 years of work experience will be considered for the position.
The positions come with a competitive benefits package and salary commensurate with experience. The positions are available immediately, but the start date is negotiable, with an initial appointment of one year, which is renewable for three years.
