The Utah Smart Energy Laboratory (U-Smart) at the University of Utah has an immediate opening for two Ph.D. Students on cyber-physical Systems Control and Security to work on the development of novel strategies to increase the resilience of critical infrastructures such as the power grid or water distribution systems against cyber attacks. The project also aims to develop models and simulation tools that could help teach fundamental principles of CPS security and control.
The ideal candidates would have expertise in one or more of the following: control theory, communication networks, hardware-in-the-loop simulation, power systems operations.
The successful applicants will receive Research Assistant positions with a competitive stipend, along with tuition waiver and medical benefits, to earn their Ph.D. degree at the ECE Department at the University of Utah.
