Dear Dr. Ahmad W. Al-Dabbagh,
I would like to express my interest in the Ph.D. position within your research group at the University of British Columbia, Canada.
With a Master's degree in Control and Instrumentation from the University of 20 Août Skikda in Algeria, I have developed a profound passion for control theory and its applications. My final year project focused on controlling a wind power conversion system using the PSO optimization algorithm, which further ignited my enthusiasm for control theory and its potential to optimize complex systems.
Following the completion of my Master's degree, I pursued further studies in Electronics (Automatics) and recently obtained my Ph.D. in March 2023 from the University of 08 mai 1945 Guelma, Algeria. Throughout my doctoral research, I delved deep into the realm of control theory, leveraging analysis and robust control techniques to enhance the energy efficiency of wind systems. This experience has significantly augmented my advanced skills in analyzing and optimizing control systems.
Parallel to my studies, I have been working as a mathematics teacher at the middle school level since September 2017. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to publish several articles in reputable journals and participate in national and international conferences. These complementary experiences have further strengthened my understanding of current advancements in the field and expanded my research perspectives.
It is important to note that my overall GPA for my undergraduate and Master's studies is 12/20. While this GPA may not be exceptional, I am proud of the knowledge and skills I have acquired throughout my academic journey. I am fully dedicated to my studies and research projects, and I am determined to continue to excel in the control theory field.
I am confident that my expertise in control theory, combined with my dedication to ongoing learning and research, would make a meaningful contribution to your research group. I am eager to work under your guidance and collaborate with fellow researchers who share my passion for control theory and its potential applications.
I have attached my curriculum vitae (CV), and transcripts (French version and its translation to English version), for your review.
Thank you sincerely for considering my application. I hope to have the privilege of actively contributing to the Ph.D. program at the University of British Columbia and further advancing the field of control theory.
Yours sincerely,
Hamza GASMI
