A postdoctoral position in the area of data-driven control is available at the Institute of Engineering and Technology, University of Groningen, The Netherlands, for a period of 12 months, extendible to another 12 months. The candidate will work under the supervision of Claudio De Persis.
The position is embedded within the project Digital Twin (https://www.digital-twin-research.nl/) financed by the Dutch Research Council (NWO). The main goal of the subproject the candidate will be involved in is to develop and exploit methods for autonomous controller tuning, adaptation and reconfiguration, and performance optimization using data-enriched models. Envisioned specific tasks within the subproject are: the development of data-driven learning (supervisory) control techniques, their possible extension to large-scale distributed settings and their proof-of-concept application to the use case of an industrial partner.
Applicants should have:
- a PhD degree from a well-recognized university;
- an inclination for rigorous mathematical investigation with a solid background in control theory and in one or more of the following: machine learning, system identification, optimization.
