The Robotics, and Control Engineering Department invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin as early as July 2023. The department faculty is a mix of civilian and military professors whose focus is on quality in-person instruction in small classes that average no more than twenty students. The Robotics and Control Engineering major prepares students for a world that is increasingly autonomous. Engineering labs are equipped with state-of-the-art autonomy and control testbeds, machine vision and robotics platforms, biomechanics instrumentation, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML), and rapid prototyping tools. A permanent technical staff works closely with the faculty to support a deep commitment to project based learning, embodied by the “design spine” that runs through the major. Faculty in the department represent a broad range of academic disciplines and work closely with counterparts in other Engineering, Math, and Science departments for both research and undergraduate education. Candidates should have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and producing peer reviewed research, contributing to their academic communities.
