The Institute of Automatic Control at the Leibniz University Hannover offers one Postdoc position in the are of model predictive control, starting December 1, 2022, or later.
The scope of work includes – depending on the interest and expertise of the applicant - different research activities in the context of optimization-based control / model predictive control (MPC), in particular basic research (e.g., within the ERC Starting Grant project Cont4Med) as well as applied research in a research project in cooperation with a company from the area of automated test tools. The former includes, e.g., the development of new MPC schemes with rigorous stability and robustness guarantees, whereas the latter is dedicated to the application of MPC methods for the implementation of test scenarios in the field of autonomous driving with a focus on robustness and real-time capability.
We offer a competitive salary according to the German pay scale TVL-13, including social benefits.
The candidate is expected to hold a Doctoral degree in control engineering or a related subject with specialization in optimization-based control / model predictive control.
Also, participation in teaching activities and the co-supervision of PhD students is expected.
