Three (3) open topic Tenure Track Professorships on „Autonomous Systems“ at the
University of Stuttgart, Germany
The new professors are expected to contribute to and strengthen the university focus area
“Autonomous Systems” in research and teaching. The candidates may have a scientific
background in the sciences, in engineering or in the digital humanities and may have a more
theoretical or a more applied research interest. The positions can be integrated into any of the
faculties of the university depending on the background, focus and interest of the respective
candidate. Persons with interest in automatic control with a strong connection to autonomous
systems are welcome to apply.
We offer an excellent, dynamic and supportive research environment at one of Germany’s top
engineering universities. A close link to the Cyber Valley initiative, Europe’s largest research
alliance in the field of intelligent systems, is intended.
The professorships are funded in the context of the joint program for the promotion of early
career researchers by the German federal and state-governments. The positions are tenure
track positions, leading to an appointment as a W3 professor in case of a positive evaluation.
The requirements for employment listed in § 51 Baden-Württemberg University Law apply. The
position involves mandatory teaching, particularly in study courses offered by the respective
