The University of Manchester, EEE Department, is looking for one Post-Doctoral Research Associate to work on the development and testing of an optimisation-based control framework to identify which grid-support services thermal (TES) and thermochemical (TCES) energy storages are able to provide, quantifying the capability of TCES/TES to provide vertically and/or horizontally stacked services. TCES is a novel technology at a much lower technological readiness level than other storage technologies, but it offers potential to store very large amounts of energy within a small space and at low cost. The appointed Research Associate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team from other UK universities, i.e., the University of Cambridge and Imperial College London. The post duration is two years, starting from 1st October 2022. The closing date is 12/07/2022.
