A PhD position is available in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Merced. The PhD student is expected to conduct research in areas related to data-based and physics-based modeling, diagnosis and control of energy/power systems in electric transportation. The ideal candidate will have
- a M.S. degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- solid background in controls, optimization and power conversion
- hands-on experience with Matlab/Simulink and embedded control systems
