We are looking for a motivated summer intern working on advanced mechatronics systems in the Metrology division within KLA. The main focus is to learn to work in a corporate environment and have hands-on experience solving real problems. You will be developing custom control systems on high-precision wafer stages while working collaboratively with an amazing team. Your goals will be matched with your education and experience levels.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate and work with design engineers to design advanced control systems.
Work independently on data collection, analysis, and managing projects.
Perform hands-on work with hardware and gather the necessary data in the lab or the cleanroom.
Present the technical analysis in both verbal and written format and presentations to the team.
Work in specified timelines and milestones.
Willingness to take on responsibility and ability to quickly ramp from the existing documentation and on-job training.
Identify any gaps and propose solutions in the implementation.
Ability to modify tuning algorithms.
Use first principles in the design work when needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Currently enrolled in a Masters's or a Ph.D. degree with a minimum of 3.5 GPA
A Master's degree is preferred in electrical, robotics, control systems, mechanical engineering, or related field.
Experience in any one of the following areas: Robust control, System identification, Signal processing, modeling of mechanical systems.
Experience in the validation of hardware systems.
Knowledge of Matlab for data analysis and control development.
Knowledge of building GUIs in Matlab.
