Postdoc in Intelligent Transport Systems using AI methods
Summary
To promote a green transport sector, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) as an enabling technology can serve as a bridge to help vehicles and the road infrastructures interact with each other more effectively. How to relief traffic jams and improve vehicles’ fuel economy taking advantage of V2X information is still an open problem because of the relatively recent development of V2X. This postdoc project aims at improving traffic efficiency in terms of traffic prediction, eco-driving of vehicles, and energy management of vehicle powertrains taking into account V2X information.
Programme duration and funding
This postdoc program offers one to three positions with a 2-year contract, with possible promotion to faculty positions depending on performance. The salary of these position will be around 300,000 CNY before tax with extra benefits including medical aid, housing subsidies, etc. The salary can be further topped up depending on the candidate’s performance and extra funding availability.
Requirements
The candidate must have a solid training in automatic control, artificial intelligence or applied mathematics with a PhD degree; possess good programming skills (Matlab or Python); and have a strong interest in the applicative part of the project, as well as an aptitude for teamwork. Research experience in eco-driving, traffic prediction or vehicle powertrain control will be appreciated, but is not mandatory.
