Distance from Lhasa to Everest Base Camp

Therefore, it usually takes 2 days to reach the Everest Base Camp from Lhasa.
By train
The Lhasa-Xigaze section has already been opened by train. The journey takes only 7 hours to reach by train. It can be reached directly by train in 3 hours, and it is possible to go back and forth between Lhasa and Xigaze in one day. However, after arriving in Shigatse, you still need to take a car to reach the Everest Base Camp, so the general tour group from Lhasa to Everest Base Camp will not recommend this type of transportation for guests. If your itinerary is only for sightseeing in Shigatse, you can choose to visit by train. To get to the Everest Base Camp, road transportation is still the best choice.
