The Department of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution, College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for a full-time tenured or tenure-track Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor position with a 9-month academic appointment, and the possibility of an additional summer appointment contingent upon need and availability of funds, beginning fall 2022. The successful applicant will be required to teach; advise and mentor graduate students; develop an independent, externally funded research program; participate in all aspects of the department’s activities; and serve the profession. Preference will be given to candidates with recent and relevant hands-on experience with applied research and technology development in one or more of the following areas: industrial internet of things (IIoT), cyber-physical systems, and embedded systems.
The Department of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution is unique among the 15 departments within the College of Engineering, due to its strong focus on applied research and undergraduate education. Currently, the department has 83 tenured/tenure-track and non-tenure track faculty members to support academic programs in electronic systems engineering technology, multidisciplinary engineering technology, manufacturing and mechanical engineering technology, and industrial distribution with an overall enrollment of approximately 2,247 undergraduate and 246 graduate students. The faculty also supports approximately $3 million annually in applied research and professional development efforts spanning areas that include embedded systems, communications, advanced manufacturing, intelligent product design and development, sales management, distribution operations and supply chain management, and educational research.

Qualifications
Applicants must have an earned doctorate in an appropriate engineering field or a closely related engineering or science discipline.
