A fully funded PhD position is available immediately at Polytechnique Montreal, within the automatic control group. We have active projects in the areas of control under information constraints, multi-agent and networked control systems, privacy and security of control systems, human-machine teaming and trustworthy autonomous systems, and active and robust machine perception for control. The student will be affiliated with the department of electrical engineering at Polytechnique Montreal and with GERAD, a multi-university research center on decision systems. Experimental facilities are also available with the Mobile Robotics and Autonomous Systems Laboratory. Interested applicants should have a master's degree in engineering, computer science, applied mathematics or a related field. A strong background in mathematical methods applied to an area such as control theory, robotics, machine learning, signal processing, optimization, etc. is desirable. For this position, students with a background in stochastic systems and/or stochastic control are preferred.
